Cheetah Breeding Project & Kapama Night Drive Tours
The first part of the excursion takes place at the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. Our guests are welcomed and following an introductory video, guests are taken in an Open Safari Vehicle for a tour of the centre. Moving between the various enclosure, guests can view (and learn more about) several endangered and threatened species of animal – including cheetah, wild dogs, African wild cats, ground hornbills and sable antelope.
After leaving the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, guests are taken to Kapama for a night drive in the reserve, which includes a stop for bush sundowners and a lapa dinner. Evening allows guests to experience the beauty rarely seen during the day, so this is a very different experience from day time safari tours. The ranger will share his knowledge of myths, customs, and ancient beliefs, as he points out medicinal values of plants and trees, and assists guests to indulge in a little star gazing in the velvet African sky.
